World Computer Chess Championship Stockholm 1974 Jean Hayes & David Levy HC DJ In 1974 the International Federation for Information Processing organized the first large scale world chess tournament for computer programs, and this book is a full record of the games with comments by David Levy. There are also chapters by Jean Hayes that display the historical background, describe the basic concepts, provide detailed notes on the competing programs, and show the direction that current work (from 1976) is taking and the attendant benefits to cognitive psychology, computer programming, and artificial intelligence. This book is in good vintage condition. There are no markings on the pages, although a few pages have a couple of spots on them. The dust jacket has a little bit of wear. It has some ribs and tears along the top and bottom edges. In addition it has a few stains on the back cover. Please see pictures. The book itself has on the back cover a tiny patch of white where the hardcover woven area has a few weaves that are lighter. Please see pictures.
